We have completed 3 weeks of Science experiments from the workbook on heat and temperature.

These are the following key concepts you have learnt so far.
  • Heat is a form of energy that makes things hot.
  • Things that produce heat are called sources of heat.
  • Temperature is a measurement of how hot or cold something is.
  • Heat and temperature are two different concepts. Heat is a form of energy while temperature is a measurement of the degree of hotness of an object. 
  • When an object gains heat, its temperature increase. When an object loses heat, its temperature decreased.
  • Heat always flows from an object of higher temperature to an object of lower temperature, until both objects reach the same temperature.

Recap on Steps when Measuring Angles

  • Identify the Baseline
  • Extend one line so that it's visible when the protractor is used.
  • Identify the center point / intersection
  • Decide on which scale to use (Outer / Inner Scale?)
  • Put your protractor on the angle to measure, ensuring all lines are in line with the protractor.

Change any whole number into fractions before subtracting with another fractions.
E.g. of conversing whole number into fractions:
1 whole = 3 thirds
2 whole = 6 thirds
1 whole = 8 eights
2 whole = 16 eights
Change to the same denominator before adding
You can still use the Lowest Common Multiple to help you find the common denominator.
